Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how G AND J TRADING INC ("G & J HomeCut", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your personal information when you use our website and home barber booking service. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy laws.

1. Information we collect

  • Booking information: name, phone number, email, service address, appointment date and time, number of people, gender selection for haircut type, and selected add-on services.
  • Payment information: billing address and tax information collected by Stripe at checkout. We do not store credit card numbers — Stripe processes and stores all card data on PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
  • Barber registration data: for barbers, we additionally collect government ID, certifications, license number, and Stripe Connect onboarding information for payouts.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited (via standard server logs).
  • Communications: any messages you send to us by email or phone.

2. How we use your information

  • To schedule, fulfil, and manage your home barber appointment.
  • To process payments, refunds, and tax compliance (HST/GST).
  • To match you with an approved barber and provide them only the information needed to perform the service (name, address, phone, appointment details).
  • To send booking confirmations, reminders, and service-related notifications.
  • To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations in Canada.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized use of the service.

3. Sharing your information

We share personal information only with:

  • The barber assigned to your booking — name, address, phone, and service details, so they can reach you and arrive at the correct location.
  • Stripe Inc. — for payment processing and tax calculation (see Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy).
  • Google LLC — for address autocomplete and distance calculation (Google Maps Platform).
  • Supabase Inc. — our backend hosting and database provider.
  • Government authorities — where required by Canadian law (e.g., CRA tax reporting, court order, public health inspections under the Health Protection and Promotion Act).

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cross-border data transfers

Some of our service providers (Stripe, Google, Supabase) store and process data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. By using our service, you consent to this cross-border transfer. We use providers that maintain strong security and contractual privacy commitments.

5. Data retention

We retain booking records for at least six (6) years as required by Canadian tax and corporate record-keeping rules. Barber registration records are kept for the duration of the barber's relationship with us plus six years. You may request deletion of non-mandatory data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted databases at rest, row-level security policies, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; you use our service at your own risk and are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

7. Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Withdraw consent to future processing (this may end our ability to provide the service).
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).

To exercise these rights, email us at informations@home-cut.com.

8. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies and local storage to maintain your session and remember your booking progress. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain express consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) where required.

9. Children

Our service is intended for adults. Haircuts may be booked for minors by their parent or legal guardian, who must be present at the appointment. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under the age of 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by email notice.
